For this edition, it was essential that the exhibition germ should be originated from current sources from which creation is born: universities and schools of art.
Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Camberwell College of Arts in London, Berlin University of the Arts, Escola Superior Artística do Porto, Chinese Friendly International (with participants from Minzu University of China and CAFA), and Universidad de Sevilla as the host, are participating in this main exhibition. Sala Santa Inés, an international showcase for new generations of artists, does not leave out the experienced veterans who wanted to share their new lines of work and growing projects.
In fact, ARTSevilla16 wanted to have specific artistic projects that, because of their strong draft and social subject, they have the necessary ingredients to boost some of the ideas that will change the world in terms of equality, solidarity, freedom and tolerance, among other human fundamental values. We are particularly referring to Cátedra de Arte y Enfermedades (Department of Art and Diseases) of Universitat Politècnica de València, Women in the Visual Arts (MAV) and FAR – Foro Arte Relacional (Relational Art Forum). This is about an exhibition space wich is open to experience and coexistence by proposing new methods of participation and inclusion.
